Duct Cleaning

Indoor Air Pollution

The indoor air we breathe is often dirtier and more polluted than the visible pollution we endure outside. Indoor air quality can cause such problems as asthma, respiratory allergies and aggravated emphysema. Heating ventilation and air conditioning systems have been shown to act as a collection source for a variety of contaminants that have the potential to affect health.

Contaminants like:

Research by the EPA has demonstrated that HVAC system cleaning may allow systems to run more efficiently by removing debris from sensitive mechanical components. Clean efficient duct and vent systems are less likely to break down, have a longer life span and generally operate more effectively than dirty systems.

Duct Cleaning Process

HiCaliber utilizes a large specialized vacuum attached to our truck line, creating a large flow of air. The registers are removed and a high-pressure air hose is passed through ducting to remove particles from the interior. The particles are pulled through ducting into the vacuum unit. Our cleaning includes cleaning of all registers inside the ducting and the interior of the heating and ventilating system.

The furnace fan is cleaned, the air condition coils are thoroughly cleaned, and finally a disinfectant is fogged through the cleaned system. The average duct cleaning takes a minimum of three to five hours depending on the size of the house. If the home has more than one heating and cooling system, or a system is located on the roof it can take longer.

Home Maintenance

Duct cleaning is a very important part of home maintenance; however, most of the time, duct cleaning is not on the top of people’s minds when they think of cleaning. Ducts can get very dirty and often go neglected for long periods of time. It is important to breathe good air and if the ducts are dirty then chances are higher that the air we are breathing inside is dirty also. Duct cleaning is not one of those things where you can simply grab a spray bottle and a rag.
